Jo Skidmore, Kidderminster has started the New Year off by setting herself a goal of losing 140 pounds (10 stone) and she decided to combine this with raising money for KEMP Hospice as she felt this would help keep her motivated.
She plans to achieve her weight loss goal by adopting a healthy lifestyle rather than ‘dieting’. She is planning to step up her exercise by walking and would like to progress this to running. She is going to join her friend, Sarah’s walking group called, ‘Walk and Weigh’, on a Monday night at 7pm from the park on Spennells.
Jo stated, “I am sure there will be low times for me this year as I work to achieve my target, all I have to do is think about the people (and their families) whom rely on the brilliant work that KEMP Hospice do! This will put my problem in perspective. I am so grateful for everything that I have in my life but you never know what is around the corner and it may be me relying on KEMP Hospice’s services one day?”
Ele Millward, Community Fundraiser at KEMP Hospice commented, “We think it’s brilliant that Jo has set herself this challenge, it’s really inspirational. She is so enthusiastic and I am looking forward to keeping in touch with her during the year. We are very grateful that Jo has chosen to support the hospice, go for it!
