Over 70 Zumba enthusiasts danced their way through 2 hours of non-stop fabulous music last Saturday, all in aid of KEMP Hospice. Some of the participants had experienced the Zumba dance craze before, for others it was a completely new experience.
‘Many of the ladies said they could have carried on for longer which I’m sure was down to our three fantastic Zumba instructors, Sandra Todd, Donna Eccleston and Juliet Gill who led the non-stop two hour Zumbathon dance party. ’ said organiser, Kate Wilkinson, KEMP Hospice Fundraiser.
‘I can’t think of a better way to start the New Year than to enjoy great music, fantastic energy and fabulous company – all whilst raising money for KEMP Hospice. It is anticipated that the Zumbathon will raise £3,000 for KEMP Hospice which will be put immediately to continue the care for local people dealing with life threatening illness. ‘
KEMP Hospice’s facebook page has been busy since the event with photos, videos and comments from everyone at the event, facebook.com/kemphospice.
KEMP Hospice provides care and support for those within the Kidderminster and the Wyre Forest area with life limiting illness. It currently costs £850,000 each year to continue this care and less than 20% is funded by the government, the rest has to be raised in other ways, “we really appreciate all that our local community do for the Hospice and this event is a great way to meet some of our great local residents and friends” said Kate Wilkinson.
