Patient Services / Welfare & Financial Advice

Here at KEMP Hospice we have a Palliative Care Case Worker, who brings her expertise in Welfare and Financial Advice to the Hospice: Anne Rendell explains why she loves the work that she does:

“It is a great privilege being part of the Kemp Team and to be able to offer free legal advice which can give people some element of control when everything else seems to be falling apart I love being in the position to help people to access the appropriate support when they need it most. The benefits system alone can be very confusing at the best of times.”

Anne can help and advise in many areas, including practical advice, information and representation, as needed for many situations, for example:

Anne Rendell – Welfare and Financial Advisor

  • Benefits
  • Housing
  • Employment
  • Debt
  • Bereavement issues, such as funerals and probate
  • Practical concerns about family and other relationship problems.
  • Help with charitable applications

Following referral, appointments are available to patients, carers and close family members when appropriate. These appointments can take place either at home or at the Hospice. Alternatively, advice can be given over the telephone.

The service is designed to be flexible to accommodate individual needs.

Patient Testimonies

“The team helped me when my shower broke. They assessed my shower unit, got me a good deal for the cost of repairing it and saved me from would have been a stressful ordeal.”

“I was getting bored and was struggling with what hobbies I could participate in with my limitations. They assisted in finding me a disabled walking club in Chaddesley Corbett, which has given me much enjoyment!”
