The aim of the Chaplaincy team at KEMP Hospice is to help to meet patients’ spiritual needs with at least one member of the Chaplaincy team available each day.
We are able to offer support and care by spending time with the patient, listening, through music, a quiet time, reflection or prayer. More formal services, such as communion are available if desired.
The emphasis is always on responding to the patient’s needs in a warm and caring manner, whether they have a faith or not and whether they belong to a specific religion or not. Everything offered at KEMP is optional: the choice of whether to take up that offer is theirs.
Spiritual care is an important part of the care that KEMP can offer the patient; it is part of the whole range of care. We are all here to work as a team to help meet the patient’s needs.
