A Gift In Memory

A gift in memory is a very special way to remember someone close to you.

We’re finding that a lot of people are choosing to make a donation instead of sending flowers at a funeral, and others are choosing to recognise a birthday or anniversary of a lost loved one by making a gift.

All the kind donations we receive in this way are really valuable.

They enable us to support patients and their families who are dealing with life limiting illness and bereavement in the Wyre Forest.

Here are a few of the ways you can make an in memory or celebration gift:

  • Ask for our GiftAid envelopes and/or donation boxes. If you’d like to ask for 'in memory' donations at the funeral we can give you special envelopes for those who would like to make a gift to the Hospice.  (The envelopes include an option for people to gift aid their donation.  This means we are able to claim 25p for every £1 donated from HMRC)
  • Call us on 01562 756066 and make a donation over the phone by credit or debit card.
  • Send a cheque (made payable to KEMP Hospice) to: KEMP Hospice, 41 Mason Road, Kidderminster, DY11 6AG.
  • Set up an online page that you and your family and friends can donate to. Just go to www.justgiving.com/kemphospice

Please let us know if we can help you in any way, just get in touch with 01562 756066 or email fundraising@kemphospice.org.uk

Other Ways of Remembering Your Loved One

kemp hospice memory meadow

When you lose someone you love, its an important part of the bereavement process to tell, but also to hear, the interesting and funny stories about who they were in life.

In the KEMP Hospice Memory Meadow you can create an online page and share it with your family and friends in order to build a wonderful memento of their life. You can upload pictures of them, tell us about their life and allow others to leave their comments and reminiscences too.

In Memory Event

You may want to consider holding an 'in memory' event as your personal way of celebrating and remembering your loved one.

Often family and friends choose to organise something that reflects the interests or personality of the person they are remembering: perhaps a bike ride, coffee morning or golf day.

Alternatively you could take on a personal challenge and get sponsored. Please get in touch if you’re interested in organising an in memory event and we’d be very happy to support you with this.

Light up a Life

During November & December we invite people to dedicate a light on one of our Christmas trees located around the Wyre Forest.  We acknowledge each donation with a personalised card and a dedication.

Everyone is welcome to remember loved ones through Light up a Life not just those who've been cared for by KEMP Hospice. We also hold a celebration service at Kidderminster Town Hall; an opportunity to come together and remember how our loved ones touched our lives.

The 2018 Celebration Service will be held on Saturday 8th December at 11am.

Lantern Walk

This is a candlelit memory walk which is held every December at Wyre Forest. It is especially for children and young people who have been bereaved and is an opportunity for them to join with their families in remembering and celebrating the life of the person they have lost.

Our KEMP for Kids team host the event that sees children and their supporters taken on a magical lantern walk through a festive forest, before meeting up with Santa Claus who has a present for them.

It really is a magical event and also a poignant one too. To find out more about our annual KEMP for Kids Lantern Walk please email our Family Support Team here: familysupport@kemphospice.org.uk

Time to Remember Services

These services provide an opportunity to reflect and remember loved ones using music, readings and candles. They are held regularly throughout the year at the Hospice and are led by our Chaplain Paul.

For more information on any of these events please get in touch with the KEMP Hospice team on 01562 756066 or email: fundraising@kemphospice.org.uk.
