Commit To Be Fit, 15th July 2017

We bring you Commit To Be Fit – A brand new event is coming to Brinton Park on Saturday 15th July 2017. A fantastic opportunity to try a new sport or enjoy your favorite fitness activity outside!

We have a great selection of local qualified fitness instructors that we will showcasing their fitness activities throughout the day.  You’ll be able to join in as many activities as you wish along with the opportunity to speak to other people who already participate in that type of exercise.

  • Bootcamp
  • HIT Training
  • Nordic Walking
  • Zumba
  • Aerobics
  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Gymnastics

 

We are really keen to get as many children active as possible and are pleased to be offering children the opportunity to also come along and try some new sports.  Children under the age of 16 can enjoy football, zumba for kids, martial arts and take part in a 1.2k run around Brinton Park!

The run will start at 10:30 am and it will be fully marshaled and parents are allowed to accompany the children around the route. At 11:15 am we will have an adults lap challenge! Test yourself and see how many laps of the 1.2k route you can do in 60 minutes! Why not set yourself a target?

The NHS recommend that adults should aim to be active daily and try to participate in 150 minutes of physical exercise per week. Here are just some of the medically proven facts:

  • up to a 35% lower risk of coronary heart disease and stroke
  • up to a 50% lower risk of type 2 diabetes
  • up to a 50% lower risk of colon cancer
  • up to a 20% lower risk of breast cancer
  • a 30% lower risk of early death
  • up to a 30% lower risk of dementia
