Local postie Peter Thompson is no stranger to fundraising for his local community. An avid supporter of various charitable causes, Peter established the 103 Nightwalk group in 2022 to help make a difference to those that need it most.

Peter explains, “Each year we decided that we would raise sponsorship to tackle a 20K (12miles) route of my delivery route in Heightinton. The event takes place at night just to add to the challenge!”

We were absolutely delighted to find out that KEMP Hospice were the chosen charity for this year’s challenge.

Nightwalk charity challenge fun with friends

Joined by his dedicated friends Jackie and Lauren Henderson, Elise Black, Alice Brazil-Burns, James Woodhouse, Justin Smith and his ever-supportive wife Faith, Peter meticulously planned the route and amassed an overwhelming wave of support from his customers. Together the determined group raised an incredible total of over £2,400 in aid of KEMP Hospice.

Reflecting on their remarkable achievement, Peter expressed his gratitude to those that supported the group along their long journey. “Special thanks are owed to those who provided refreshments along the way, especially the wonderful Dave at Nothing Bound Brewery who opened his doors for us in the early hours of the morning, offering a much-needed oasis in the darkness, The Grove and Piggots Farm.”
