Spectacular Snowdon at Sunrise Challenge raises £10,000 for KEMP Hospice
After weeks of training and a difficult 3560ft climb in the dark, a group of KEMP Hospice supporters were treated to an awe-inspiring view as they watched the sun rise atop the Welsh mountain of Snowdonia.
Thanks to fundraising efforts prior to the event on Sunday 16th June 2024, they have raised a phenomenal £10,000 in support of Wyre Forest charity.
Setting off from KEMP Hospice on Saturday evening, the team arrived at the base in the early hours of Sunday morning to set off on their trek. Encouraging each other to keep going, the dark of the night began to fade as the group made the final push to reach the summit.
Jayne Sargeant, Head of Fundraising & Communications said “There really are no words to describe the feeling of standing at the summit watching the sun rise. There are many different reasons why people in the group chose to take on this challenge. Some for the challenge of the climb, some in memory of loved ones, but all were here to support KEMP Hospice and we are truly grateful for the amazing fundraising efforts of everyone who took part”.

The event was kindly sponsored by Hewett Recruitment and supported by the team at Sky Blue Adventures who safely guided everyone up and down the mountain. Jayne continued “It was a truly epic challenge, difficult in parts, but we were blessed with great weather, breath-taking views and a beautiful sunrise. The amount raised really will make a significant difference to KEMP Hospice and we would like to thank everyone who took part or donated in support of the challenge.”
Plans are already in motion for the next sunrise challenge and KEMP Hospice are delighted to announce they are inviting people to take on Scafell Pike on Sunday 15th June 2025.
