An incredible £8,155.49 has been raised for KEMP Hospice thanks to the fundraising efforts of Vernon Lodge Masons throughout 2024. After a year of tireless support and dedication to raising money for the Hospice, a number of members recently visited to celebrate and share the final total.
Caroline Beech, Chief Executive at KEMP Hospice said, “It’s been a pleasure to have worked with Gerry and the Vernon Lodge Masons over the past year. Their passion and dedication towards KEMP Hospice is undeniable and is reflected in the incredibly generous amount of over £8,000 raised.”
Throughout 2024, the Vernon Lodge Masons held several events to help fundraise for the Hospice, including the Ladies Masonic Ball held at Stourport Manor in October. Gerry Pigney, Vernon Lodge Master also took to the skies and jumped from 13,000 feet in the KEMP Summer Skydive.
In a final gesture of support for the Hospice in 2024, Gerry arranged for the Kidderminster Polymer Clay Guild to create and decorate polymer clay butterflies to display on the Hospice Christmas Tree which can be seen at Worcester Cathedral until 6th January 2025, as part of the annual Christmas Tree Festival.
Russell Halfpenny, Community & Events Fundraiser at KEMP Hospice said, “It was great to meet with Gerry and several of the members, to learn more about their fundraising efforts, and share with them the impact their fundraising will make to the lives of the adults, young people and children we support throughout the Wyre Forest. All our services are provided free of charge so the funds raised could help to pay for KEMP Day Hospice for one week. They are an incredibly charitable organisation, and we are so grateful for all their support.”
