Retail Assistant (Part-Time)

We’re currently recruiting a Retail Assistant (Part-Time) to support our Kidderminster Retail Teams.

Job title: Retail Assistant (Part-Time)

Role Overview:

Part time | 15 hours per week over 2 days | Wed: 5 hours, Sat: 7.5 hours | Working hours between 8:45am and 5:30pm | £11.44 per hour

This role is based at our bustling Clearance Shop on Worcester Street; however, as the shop is dual-managed, there will be a requirement to work and provide cover at our Coventry Street Shop and Bridal Outlet regularly and as required.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Deliver high levels of customer service at all times.
  • Thank all donors and offer every donor the opportunity to register for Gift Aid on stock or cash donations.
  • Support the manager to deliver a well presented, full and clean shop.
  • Support the manager in the delivery of in store promotions, events and changes to the shop floor layout to maximise income.
  • Support the manager by accurately completing customer transactions on EPOS, end of day processes and banking.
  • Support the manager in growing income, offering Lottery tickets for sale, taking part in fundraising initiatives in store and identifying high value/unusual items for eBay.
  • Take all reasonable steps to reduce costs and minimise waste.
  • To ensure Health & Safety policies/procedures are followed and safe working practices maintained.
  • Work with all KEMP staff and volunteers to ensure the shop offers a friendly and welcoming environment to everyone.
  • Support the manager with the recruitment, training and supporting volunteers.
  • Undertake training and attend meetings as required.
  • Fulfil mutually agreed additional duties as are deemed necessary.
  • Positively promote and enhance the work of KEMP by communicating with donors and customers.
  • Work flexibly across the trading week to support KEMP Retail.

Experience:

Retail sales: 2 years (required)

Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
