Who Can make a referral?
Anyone who lives within, or is registered with a GP in the Wyre Forest and who has experienced a bereavement within the past 3 years can make a referral to our bereavement service.
Adult counselling can be accessed via self-referral or referral by a GP, or other healthcare professional. Children and young adult counselling can be accessed via referral by parent/guardian as well as GP or other healthcare professional, family support worker or teacher, with parental/guardian consent.
What happens when I am referred?
One of our team will contact you to arrange to carry out an assessment The assessment is usually carried out by one of our Counsellors by telephone and takes around 45 minutes. If, following assessment, it is agreed that one to one work may be beneficial then you can be offered up to a maximum of 10 sessions with one of our Family Support team.
