Bereavement Counsellor

Biography

What do you do at KEMP?

Adult Bereavement Counsellor/Bereavement Coordinator.

Why did you start working / volunteering at KEMP?

Became a staff member at KEMP in October 2016. Previous to this, I have volunteered at the KEMP for Kids Residential Camps for the past 5 years.

My Mum has also been a volunteer within the hospice for the last 14 years so KEMP therefore has been a part of my life for a long time.

Why do you think KEMP Is special?

Being able to provide the care, compassion, respect and understanding during one of the most difficult of times in a persons’ life.

What do you get out of working at KEMP?

I enjoy working alongside like-minded people (i.e. all the staff and volunteers) who share the same purpose and goal - to help provide the best support possible to our local community.

What difference do you think KEMP makes to the community of the Wyre Forest?

Simply, a local support service for the local community. Feeling everyone within the local community can play a part in the support KEMP can offer.

Being able to donate, fundraise, volunteer, etc., to a local charity can be an individual's way of perhaps saying a personal thank you but also provide a sense of positivity and achievement. We can all have a chance to make a difference and we DO make a difference!
