KEMP Hospice Calls on Community to Help Light Up New Moonlight Walk

KEMP Hospice is asking local businesses, community groups and residents to help bring its brand-new Moonlight Walk to life by donating battery-powered lights and decorations.

Taking place on Friday 31^st July 2026, the Moonlight Walk will be a magical evening walk under the full moon of Bodenham Arboretum, while raising vital funds for KEMP Hospice. The event will feature music, live entertainment, food and refreshments and a 3km walk around the grounds of this beautiful local venue.  

Ian Carr, Head of Fundraising and Communications at KEMP Hospice, said “We are very excited to bring back an event similar to our previously loved Midnight Walk, but we need help to make it as magical as possible, and lighting up Bodenham Arboretum should make it a night to remember, whilst still raising vital funds for KEMP Hospice.”

To help create the unique and magical atmosphere, KEMP Hospice is asking for donations of:

• Battery and/or solar powered fairy lights and string lights
• Lanterns
• LED candles
• Light-up decorations
• Batteries

Ian continued “We hope this event will be a cause for celebration for people. It’s an occasion for family and friends to enjoy together. We will also have a section of the walk dedicated to those who are no longer with us. We’re hoping people can donate battery-powered lights and decorations to help us create a special atmosphere for everyone.”

The Moonlight Walk, sponsored by The Gables Care Home, is an event open to everyone, whether you want to honour someone, or simply have a fun evening with friends. By donating any working battery powered lights, you will be helping to support KEMP.
