VolkerLaser Returns to Support KEMP Hospice Gardens

We were delighted to welcome back volunteers from VolkerLaser for a second year as part of National Volunteers’ Week. The team generously gave their time to help us tackle a substantial garden project, making a real difference to our hospice grounds.

Our garden is an important part of the hospice environment, offering patients, families and visitors a tranquil outdoor space to spend time together, enjoy nature and take a moment away from the challenges they may be facing. The support from the VolkerLaser team has helped us maintain and enhance this special area for everyone who visits KEMP.

“It’s been lovely to have VolkerLaser return to help take on the substantial garden project for us. Our garden is a big part of our patients’ experience as it provides a peaceful and calm environment that can enhance emotional wellbeing, and provoke discussion and social interaction. As part of National Volunteers’ Week, the team reached out to KEMP to offer their support. It was a delight having some of the team here, and we are so grateful for all their hard work and support.” Said Kevin Powell, our  People and Volunteer Coordinator.

Throughout the day, the team worked incredibly hard to improve and maintain our garden. Their efforts included transforming our rockery into an additional seating area and refreshing existing benches, creating even more opportunities for patients and visitors to enjoy the outdoor space. Their enthusiasm, dedication and willingness to get involved were greatly appreciated by everyone at KEMP.
