What is Shine a Light?
Shine a Light is a wonderful way you can make an important difference this festive season.
Whether you have an existing connection to KEMP Hospice or not, everyone is invited to donate for someone you care for, in memory of someone who is much missed from your life, or simply to support KEMP Hospice.
Every donation made helps us to provide expert nursing, bereavement and emotional support and a safe, welcoming space for people across Wyre Forest facing the toughest of times.
We never charge for our care services, counselling and bereavement support for adults and young people, emotional support for children or our finance & welfare services.
Why your donation makes a difference: Tor’s Story
“My name is Tor and I’m a patient at KEMP Hospice. I was born with a rare non-genetic condition called Maffucci Syndrome. It means my bones grew differently, tumours appear where they shouldn’t and living with a constant concern that something benign can, and has on three occasions, turn into something worse.”

There’s no minimum amount to donate to Shine a Light but it may help you to know:
£30 could pay for a session with our specialist advisor
to guide someone though complex Finance & Welfare processes.
£52 could pay for a bereavement support session
for a child as young as 5 with a member of our specially trained family support team.
£150 could pay for a KEMP Hospice Palliative Care Nurse
for one day in our Day Hospice.
Share your dedication with an online tribute.
When you make a donation to Shine a Light this festive season, you can also add to our online tribute page for the person(s) you are remembering.
Here you can leave messages, share memories and add photos, and because it’s online, you can also share with your friends, family and colleagues. They can also add their own messages of remembrance and choose to donate to support KEMP Hospice if they wish to.

No. Anyone can take part in Shine a Light. Whether you’ve experienced KEMP’s care first-hand, are remembering someone you love, or simply want to support your local hospice, your donation will be greatly appreciated.
Yes. Shine a Light is a way to remember someone special while helping other local people and families receive the care and support they need.
Your donation helps KEMP Hospice provide free care and support to people living with life-limiting conditions and their families across the Wyre Forest area. Every gift helps us continue being there for local people when life changes.
Absolutely. You can make a donation to support KEMP Hospice without dedicating it to anyone. Every donation, whatever the reason behind it, makes a difference.
There’s no minimum amount when making a donation to Shine a Light, but it may help you to know:

If you’re a UK taxpayer and your donation is eligible, you may be able to boost your gift through Gift Aid at no extra cost to you. You’ll be able to indicate your eligibility when making your donation. Please read the declaration carefully before opting in.
We really appreciate all donations for Shine a Light 2026. If you would like your donation to continue making a difference throughout the next year and beyond, you could join the KEMP Butterfly Club and make a regular monthly donation to KEMP Hospice.
