The audience enjoyed performances ranging from, Hallelujah, a medley of spirituals, Ding Dong Merrily on High and Let it Snow. And just in case this was not enough to put everyone in the Christmas mood the evening ended with all the choirs joining together with the audience for a rendition of “The 12 days of Christmas”.

The competitors this year were KEMP Hospice, The Old Village Store – Wolverley, The Vocalettes, Thursfield’s Solicitors, Elmfield Community Choir and The University of the Third Age. The judges were Mr Justin Parker, KEMP Hospice trustee, Mr Mark Garnier, Conservative MP for Wyre Forest and Councillor Ken Prosser, Deputy Chairman of Wyre Forest District Council and his wife Anthea Prosser. They had a difficult job on their hands, once again this year, as it was a close fought competition.

Thursfield’s Solicitors choir was awarded the title of ‘KEMP Hospice – The Last Choir Standing 2011’ with a stunning performance of a medley from ’Les Miserables’ and they were presented with a special engraved trophy and certificate.

Ele Millward commented, “There certainly is a lot of talent in our local community! I think the choirs performances really showed off how much time, dedication and enthusiasm they had invested. We are so grateful to everyone who supported the event and we’re looking forward to ‘Last Choir Standing 2012’.”

The event has raised more than £1400 for KEMP Hospice. This will enable the hospice to continue caring for people with life limiting illnessl in the Wyre Forest area and give much needed support to their loved ones.
